Ports i Mans

The project emerges from the artist residency of the artists and basketmakers, Mònica Guilera and Tim Johnson. The experimentation, with the flora of the immediate environment, with the Plana and the Ports Natural Park, during all the seasons of the year, has resulted in the present exhibition. Furthermore this project has also fostered a greater knowlege of plants available in the area, as well as their potential uses in basketmaking and in ephemeral sculpture close to LandART.

Ports i Mans is the result of a confluence among the changing natural landscape, the interaction with people and the creative spirit of artists. As a living organism, the Ports and the Plana become an incomparable setting to enjoy the biodiversity of our land. Each season offers a variety of plants which artists have succeeded in finding and in integrating perfectly in their works.
